- Shopify is by far the biggest platform in the UAE: 5,626 ads from 859 pages, 14% of all Arabic ads shown in the UAE.
- Cash on delivery is mentioned in 15% of UAE ads overall, but reaches 36% in LightFunnels ads and drops to 6% in Shopify ads.
- The advertised price sits in a narrow band: a median of AED 199 on YouCan, 199 on LightFunnels, 200 on EasyOrders and 200 on Shopify.
The UAE market: big, and mostly not dropshipping
In the study window, 41,020 Arabic ads from 6,964 advertiser pages ran in the UAE. The biggest destination of those ads is not a store at all: 33% end in a WhatsApp chat. Then comes Shopify (14%), and far behind it WooCommerce, Salla, EasyOrders, LightFunnels and YouCan, each at about one percent or less.
Dropshipping in the UAE lives in three places: the single-product page platforms (LightFunnels, EasyOrders and YouCan), which build a landing page for one product with an order form; Shopify stores, used by dropshippers who want a catalogue and card payment; and WhatsApp, for those selling from an account without a store. We focus on the four platforms because the ad reveals them clearly, and we repeat that brands holding their own stock use the same platforms. The whole Gulf picture is in The GCC dropshipping market, the platform map in our article on Gulf store platforms.
The four platforms inside the UAE, in numbers
| YouCan | LightFunnels | EasyOrders | Shopify | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ads in the UAE | 306 | 334 | 513 | 5,626 |
| Advertiser pages | 51 | 35 | 41 | 859 |
| Video | 73% | 82% | 79% | 58% |
| Cash on delivery | 15% | 36% | 8% | 6% |
| Free delivery | 26% | 14% | 33% | 18% |
| A discount or an offer | 25% | 22% | 63% | 32% |
| "Order now" button | 29% | 51% | 81% | 27% |
| Median price (AED) | 199 | 199 | 200 | 200 |
| Ads that stated a price | 23 | 12 | 47 | 948 |
Prices in dirhams come from the ads that wrote a price in their copy, and those are few on LightFunnels (12 ads) and YouCan (23), so read their medians as a hint. On Shopify the sample is larger (948 ads): half the prices fall between AED 125 and 400. On EasyOrders the range is the widest, from AED 99 to 899 between the quartiles, because it holds cheap food and expensive gadgets together.
Few pages testing a lot: the shape of UAE dropshipping
Read the ads row and the pages row together. LightFunnels has 334 ads from 35 pages, about ten ads per page within a few days. EasyOrders has 513 ads from 41 pages. That is the professional dropshipper's pattern: many products tested from many angles, and the losers cut within days.
The second clue is age. Of the YouCan ads in the UAE, none had been running 30 days or more (0); of LightFunnels only 3, of EasyOrders 3 as well, against 45 on Shopify. Dropshipping is short-lived ads by nature; the one that survives for weeks is the exception you are looking for. Why age matters: Ad running time.
And each country gets its own campaign: of the LightFunnels ads shown in the UAE, only 2 also ran in Saudi Arabia, and of EasyOrders 2. The dropshipper makes one ad per country with its currency and price, so their UAE ads differ from their Saudi ads even for the same product.
What dropshippers sell in the UAE
On YouCan in the UAE: electronics first (42 ads), then health and supplements (40), hair care (28) and kids (25). On LightFunnels hair care (59), electronics (56) and skincare (44): "problem and solution" products explained on video, and video is 82% of its ads.
EasyOrders is different: food, coffee and dates first (86 ads), then electronics (62), home (55) and fashion (44), with a discount in 63% of its ads and an "Order now" button on 81%. Shopify is the brand market: perfumes (620), skincare (601), health (532) and food (462). Cash on delivery or card? What UAE ads say
In UAE ads overall, "cash on delivery" is mentioned in 15% of ads, and instalments with Tabby or Tamara in 4%. Most UAE advertisers do not write the payment method in the ad and leave it to the landing page.
- LightFunnels is the highest: 36% of its UAE ads mention cash on delivery. The single-product page lives on orders without prepayment.
- YouCan in the middle: 15%, less than its share across the whole Gulf (26%); in the UAE YouCan sellers lean on free delivery instead (26% of their ads).
- EasyOrders sells on discount, not payment method: cash on delivery in only 8%, a discount in 63% and free delivery in 33%.
- Shopify is the card and instalment market: cash on delivery in 6% of its ads, Tabby or Tamara in 6%, and a "Shop now" button on 59%.
The practical conclusion: if you are testing a new product whose buyer does not know you, cash on delivery is what the platforms that test most do, and you budget for refused orders. If you build a brand with a catalogue, the UAE market accepts card and instalments more than single-product page ads suggest. How to read the UAE market for your product in GccFY
- In the library pick the country "UAE" and the "store type": YouCan, LightFunnels or EasyOrders, then sort by longest running. What survives for weeks on a testing platform survives for a reason.
- Open the captured store page behind the ad: the price in dirhams, the quantity offer, the order form, the payment method. The page is kept as the buyer saw it, even after the seller changes it.
- On the Domains screen filter the platform and read each domain's ads in the six countries: a store advertising in the UAE, Oman and Qatar at once has found a product it tested in more than one market. Finding YouCan stores is in YouCan stores in the Gulf, LightFunnels in LightFunnels stores.
- Count the advertisers on the same product in the UAE: three or four signal demand, ten signal saturation and a price war.
- Remember that stores' sales are private: the number of ads, how long they run and expansion to other countries are signals, not order counts.
And where does the product come from? The usual sources: AliExpress and CJdropshipping for international shipping, or local wholesalers and fulfilment warehouses for those who want delivery within a day or two, which is what sets apart the stores that last in the UAE.
