Key takeaways
- A lasting ad is rare in the UAE: only 276 of 40,941 had run 30 days or more when we captured them, most in fashion, hair care and skincare.
- One category holds hundreds of pages (722 in hair care, 668 in fashion): three pages on the same product is real demand, dozens is a crowded market.
- 71% of UAE ads are video, a discount in 40% and "limited time" in 20%: the winner shows up with a fresh video and a clear offer, not urgency alone.
- The method reads advertiser behaviour, not sales; the median advertised price is AED 299, and the margin is your own calculation.
Four signals of a winning product in the UAE
- An ad running for 30 days or more. Of 40,941 UAE ads whose start date we know, only 276 had run that long when we captured them. An advertiser does not pay for a month on a product that does not sell, and the rarity makes every ad in that minority worth opening.
- Many pages on the same product. 6,964 pages advertised in the UAE in a few days. When three or more pages sell the same product with similar ads, demand is real; when you find dozens, the market has filled.
- A video in new versions. 71% of UAE ads are video. An advertiser repeating the same product video in three or more cuts is scaling what worked.
- A store expanding to other countries. This one is very UAE: of the UAE's ads, 4,208 also ran in Qatar and 3,408 in Kuwait. A store that starts in the UAE and then adds a second country to the same product's ad has seen results worth expanding.
The general guide to winning products and the margin check is in Winning products; reading running time in Ad running time.
Where ads last in the UAE
The ads that had run 30 days or more cluster in particular categories:
| Category | Ads that had run 30 days or more | Out of | Pages advertising |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hair care | 28 | 4,982 | 722 |
| Fashion and shoes | 28 | 4,862 | 668 |
| Skincare | 23 | 3,642 | 665 |
| Kids and toys | 19 | 2,414 | 608 |
| Home and furniture | 15 | 3,325 | 831 |
| Electronics | 14 | 3,663 | 649 |
| Perfumes and incense | 10 | 3,329 | 608 |
Hair and skin care keep their ads longest relative to their size, while perfumes and watches, for all their volume, turn over faster. In skincare the selling route differs too: 34% of its ads lead to WhatsApp without a store and 17% to Shopify, so the winner here is sold in a chat more than in a cart.

The weekly routine: three screens in GccFY
Screen one, the library (five minutes): filter UAE, status active, sort longest running, then your category's Arabic word («شعر», «بشرة», «فستان»). Note the products that repeat from different pages, and open the store snapshot behind each: the price in dirhams, the offer, instalments or cash on delivery.

Screen two, Advertisers (three minutes): the UAE filter, sorted by most ads and then by longest running. A page whose ads rise week after week spends more because it sells more; open it to see which product carries its oldest ads.
Screen three, Domains (two minutes): for every candidate store, open its domain and look at its ads per country: UAE only, or UAE plus Qatar and Kuwait? A store that added a country this week is expanding, the strongest signal after running time.
Then save the candidates in a "UAE, this week" collection and return after seven days. How to read an advertiser's and a domain's active ads count.
What a winning ad carries in the UAE
A discount or an offer in 40% of UAE ads, "limited time" or "hurry" in 20%, cash on delivery in 15%, free delivery in 12%, instalments (Tabby, Tamara) in 4%. When you find a lasting ad, compare its offer with these shares: the winner usually carries a clear discount and a video, and rarely relies on urgency alone.
Prices: the median advertised price is AED 299, and half of the priced ads sit between AED 130 and 600. A lasting product above that range usually puts instalments in the first line. The buttons: "Shop now" on 39%, "WhatsApp message" on 31%: WhatsApp ads are a big door in the UAE.
The limits of the method, honestly
- No sales, no margin. The method reads an advertiser's continued paying, not their profit. Work out your margin after ads, delivery and returns.
- Running time at capture. 276 ads had run 30 days when we captured them; we do not know how long they lived afterwards, and a new ad has not been judged yet.
- The UAE is a multilingual market. Our study covers Arabic ads only; part of the UAE market advertises in English and these numbers do not see it.
- Categories by words. We match an ad to a category by the words in its text, and it can fall in two.
- The season. What lasts in November may be a White Friday or National Day (2 December) product; check Gulf ad seasons. For the same method in Kuwait read Winners in Kuwait.
