Key takeaways
- Home is 8% of all the Arabic ads that targeted Kuwait, and Kuwait holds 17% of the Gulf's home ads.
- WhatsApp without a store on 26% of the ads and Shopify on only 6%, against 15% for Shopify across Kuwaiti ads.
- Video on 82% (Kuwaiti average 69%), and a discount or an offer on only 31% (Gulf home 42%).
- Half of the priced ads sit between KWD 12 and 362, with a median of 22: the widest price range in this series.
The Kuwaiti home market: many pages, few ads each
Home and furniture take 8% of all the Arabic ads that targeted Kuwait in the study, behind fashion (12%), electronics (12%), hair, health, watches and perfume. Kuwait is the fourth home market in the Gulf: 17% of the category's ads, after Saudi Arabia (30%), the UAE (27%) and Qatar (18%).
The market is very spread out: 597 pages for 2,127 ads, three to four ads per advertiser, against 5,027 pages for 28,283 ads across the Kuwaiti market. Showrooms, upholstery workshops and decor shops, and no advertiser owns the category. And the Kuwaiti home ad travels next door: 20% of it also runs in Qatar, 20% in Bahrain and 18% in the UAE. For the Gulf picture read the home and furniture ads guide; for every category in Kuwait, Trending in Kuwait.

The offers: video everywhere, fewer discounts than usual
Video on 82% of home ads in Kuwait, far above the Kuwaiti average (69%) and Gulf home (78%): the sofa shown in the living room, the majlis laid out in front of the camera. Carousels on 6%, useful to show the colours of one piece.
The offers are quieter than in other categories: a discount or an offer on only 31%, below the Kuwaiti average (34%) and Gulf home (42%); "limited time" on 19%, a gift on 11%. Cash on delivery on 15%, free delivery on 9%, and instalments on only <1%. A quarter of the priced ads are at KWD 362 or more, and a piece at that price deserves a line about instalments that almost nobody writes.
Where the ads lead: the chat before the store
Among the platforms we recognise, WhatsApp without a store comes first: 26% of home ads in Kuwait, then Shopify 6%, EasyOrders 1%, with Salla almost absent (<1%). The gap with the Kuwaiti market is clear: Shopify there is 15%, more than twice its share in furniture. A large piece needs a question about size, colour, delivery and assembly, and the chat answers. Across Gulf home ads WhatsApp is stronger still (32%).
The buttons: "Shop now" on 44%, "WhatsApp message" on 24% (Kuwait overall 22%), "Order now" on 15%, and "Call now" on 1%, a button you do not see in the small-ticket categories. How to build a WhatsApp ad that sells: WhatsApp ads.
Prices in Kuwaiti dinars
Of 146 ads that stated a price in dinars (a small sample): the lower quartile up to KWD 12, the median 22, the upper quartile from KWD 362. Across the Kuwaiti market: 12, 20 and 46. The lower quartile and the median are about the market's own (curtains, rugs, lighting, accessories), but the upper quartile jumps to full bedrooms and majlis sets. The category is two categories: decor bought on impulse from the store, and furniture bought after a chat.
The median copy runs 81 words against 59 for Kuwaiti ads overall: the material, the size and the fabric options get written down. For Doha, where the picture is similar in Qatari riyals: Qatar furniture ads.
The furniture ads that lasted in Kuwait
What usually lasts in this sort: made-to-measure sofas and majlis seating, rugs, curtains and lighting for a quick refresh, and garden furniture in winter. The ad that lasts shows the piece in a real home and states the delivery and assembly time. Try other words in the same sort («كنب» sofa, «مجلس» majlis, «ستائر» curtains, «سجاد» rugs), and open the store page or the WhatsApp link behind the ad. How to read running time.
An honest note on the numbers: the "home" group is built from words in the ad text, so it includes ads that are not furniture: 16% of the group's ads also carry electronics words (small appliances, smart lighting), 15% carry fashion words, and 10% carry kids words (children's rooms). A "Book" button sits on 2% of the ads, a button of services, not stores. Read the shares as a direction; the live screen is the judge.
Practical steps and copy templates for Kuwait
- Decide: a piece under the median sells from the store with a "Shop now" button; a large piece sells through a chat and photos from real homes.
- Film in a real room: the size against the room, the material up close, the assembly.
- State delivery and assembly and how long they take in every governorate, and write a line about instalments for pieces above the upper quartile: almost nobody does.
- If you ship across the Gulf, try the ad in Qatar and Bahrain too: a fifth of your competitors do.
- Plan the seasons: White Friday on 27 November 2026, Ramadan around 8 February 2027 (home and majlis refreshes in the weeks before it), and National and Liberation Day on 25 and 26 February. The calendar is in Gulf ad seasons.
