Watch and jewellery stores in Saudi Arabia: how they advertise, where they sell, and at what price

A watch, a necklace, sunglasses: gift goods, sold with a picture, a luxury box and the promise "inspect it before you pay". We read 4,554 recent Arabic ads for watches, jewellery and accessories targeting Saudi Arabia, from 827 advertiser pages, between 2026-10-25 and 2026-11-06. Saudi Arabia is the biggest Gulf market for the category by count, but it differs from the rest of the Gulf in three ways: the store is on Salla rather than WhatsApp, cash on delivery is below the Gulf average for the category while still three times the Saudi average, and instalments appear more than in any other country.

  • A discount or an offer in 56%, and a gift in 25% (Saudi average 8%): the luxury box is part of the product.

The Saudi watch and jewellery market in one picture

Watches and accessories are one of the big categories in Saudi Arabia: 8% of all the Arabic ads that targeted the Kingdom, 4,554 ads, right after fashion and electronics. Across the Gulf, Saudi Arabia is first by count (4,554 of the study's 17,359 watch and accessories ads), then the UAE (4,156) and Oman (3,190). The whole Gulf category is in Watches and accessories ads.

Three differences between Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf in this category:

  • The platform: across the Gulf, WhatsApp without a store is first (7%), then Shopify (5%); in Saudi Arabia, Salla leads by a wide margin (17%). Of the 770 watch and accessories ads leading to Salla in the whole Gulf, 762 are in Saudi Arabia alone.
  • Payment: cash on delivery in 37% of the Saudi ads, below the category's Gulf average (45%), but three times the average of Saudi ads overall (12%).
  • Instalments: Tabby and Tamara in 6% of the category's ads in Saudi Arabia, against 2% for the category across the Gulf: pricier gold and jewellery are sold in instalments here.

How they sell: the box, inspection before payment, and the offer

76% of the category's ads in Saudi Arabia are video (Saudi average 62%): the watch on a wrist in daylight, the necklace on a neck, the box opened on camera. The offers that keep coming back:

  • A discount or an offer in 56%: more than half the ads, usually "a set for the price of one piece" or "the second piece at half price".
  • Cash on delivery in 37% and free delivery in 29%: the buyer does not know the brand, so the doubt is removed with "inspect it before you pay".
  • Urgency ("limited stock", "last chance") in 30%, twice the Saudi average (15%).
  • A gift in 25%: a luxury gift box, or a free bracelet with the watch. The Saudi average is 8%.

And the text is long: a median of 112 words against 44 in Saudi ads overall, because the ad lists the specifications (water resistance, the guarantee, plating that does not change colour), then the offer, then the payment method.

Where the ads lead: Salla, WhatsApp, Shopify, Zid

17% of the category's ads in Saudi Arabia lead to a Salla store, then WhatsApp without a store (7%), Shopify (4%), Zid (3%) and YouCan (1%). WhatsApp's share here is a third of its share of Saudi ads overall (24%): a watch is bought from a product page with a clear price, not from a chat. Platforms compared in Salla and Zid store ads.

The buttons confirm it: "Shop now" on 61% (Saudi average 36%), "Order now" on 16%, and "WhatsApp message" on only 7% against 23% in Saudi Arabia overall. "Learn more" on 6%: the button of a brand introducing itself before it sells, often chosen by gold and jewellery shops.

Prices in riyals, and who advertises

Of 556 ads that stated a price in riyals: the lower quartile up to SAR 149, the median 199, the upper quartile from SAR 291. The median is the same as the category's Gulf median (SAR 199) and close to the median of Saudi ads overall (196), but the upper quartile is wider in Saudi Arabia: above two hundred riyals come the jewellery sets and boxed watches, which are what gets sold in instalments.

The market is spread out: 4,554 ads from 827 pages, a handful of ads per advertiser on average, less concentrated than the category across the Gulf (17,359 ads from 1,863 pages). No page owns the category in Saudi Arabia, and a small store competes with its offer. To see who advertises now, open the Advertisers screen in GccFY with "ساعة" (watch) or "مجوهرات" (jewellery) and the Saudi filter.

The watch ads that have run for weeks in Saudi Arabia

The number of ads tells you who is testing; running time tells you who is selling. Sort the library by longest running with the Saudi filter, and note for every ad that lasted: what is sold (a men's watch, a women's set, sunglasses, a plated necklace), the offer (a second piece, a gift box, inspection before payment), and how it is shown (a wrist in the street, or a box being opened). Open the store page behind the ad to see the real price and whether cash on delivery is written there too. How to read running time.

An honest note on the numbers: the "watches" group in our study is built from words in the ad text, and it holds watches, sunglasses, accessories, jewellery and gold together; the words for "smart watch" also fall in electronics: 20% of this group's ads in Saudi Arabia mention an electronic product. Read the numbers as "watches, accessories and jewellery", not watches alone, and narrow your search in the library with your own product word.

Practical steps and copy templates for a watch and jewellery store

  1. Open the GccFY library with "ساعة" (watch), "طقم" (set) or "سلسال" (necklace) and the Saudi filter, sorted by longest running, then add the Salla platform filter to see your direct competitors.
  2. Price your hero product near the market median, and make the set or the second piece the offer, not a bare discount.
  3. Write cash on delivery and free delivery in the ad text itself, not only on the store page: a third of your competitors do.
  4. For pieces above the upper quartile, offer instalments openly; for cheaper products, inspection before payment is enough.
  5. Plan the seasons: White Friday on 27 November 2026 (start mid-November), Founding Day on 22 February, Eid al-Fitr on 9 or 10 March 2027. The full calendar is in Gulf ad seasons, and Saudi Arabia's best-selling products in Best sellers in Saudi Arabia.
