- A discount or an offer in 46% of the ads (Saudi average 34%), and a gift in 18%, about twice the Saudi average.
- The median advertised price is SAR 199; half of the priced ads sit between SAR 113 and 249: a very narrow band.
- The "WhatsApp message" button is on only 8% of perfume ads, against 23% of Saudi ads overall.
The Saudi perfume market in one picture
Saudi Arabia is the biggest market for perfume ads in the Gulf by count: 3,838 of the study's 12,631 perfume ads, slightly ahead of the UAE (3,480). But the real difference is in the method, not the count:
- The platform: across the Gulf, Shopify is the first platform for perfume ads (14%); in Saudi Arabia, Salla leads by a wide margin. Of the 1,882 perfume ads leading to Salla in the whole Gulf, 1,355 are in Saudi Arabia alone.
- The offer: discounts, gifts and "limited time" are clearly above the Saudi average.
- Payment: cash on delivery in 10%, the same as the Saudi average (12%): perfume is not a "pay on delivery" category like fashion and electronics.

How Saudi perfume stores sell: the discount and the gift before the scent
68% of perfume ads in Saudi Arabia are video (Saudi average 63%): the spray, the box and the gift case are shown, not described. The three offers that keep coming back:
- A discount or an offer in 46%: close to half the ads, and "the second piece" or "a set at one price" is the usual form.
- Urgency ("limited time", "limited stock") in 23%, against 16% of Saudi ads overall.
- A gift in 18%, against 8% in Saudi Arabia overall: perfume is a present, and its ads say so.
Free delivery (9%) and instalments (4%) matter less: the price is within reach and needs no instalment plan. How we read these signals in every category: Ad offers in numbers.
Where the ads lead: Salla, Shopify, WhatsApp
This is the clearest difference between perfume in Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf. 35% of the ads lead to a Salla store, above Salla's share of all Saudi ads (20%). Then Shopify (8%), WhatsApp without a store (8%), LightFunnels (4%) and Zid (3%).
In practice: your competitor in Saudi perfume is usually a local Salla store with a product page, a cart and online payment, not a chat. If you sell perfume over WhatsApp only, you are off the market's habit. Platforms compared in Salla and Zid store ads.
The buttons confirm it: "Shop now" on 46%, "Order now" on 26%, "Learn more" on 9% (a button usually chosen by a brand that wants to introduce itself before it sells), and "WhatsApp message" on only 8%.
Prices, and who advertises
Of 605 Saudi perfume ads that stated a price in riyals: the lower quartile up to SAR 113, the median 199, the upper quartile from SAR 249. The upper quartile is very close to the median: advertised perfume prices pile up in a narrow band, and the stated price is usually a set or an offer, not a single bottle. For comparison, the median of all Saudi ads is SAR 199.
The market is spread out: 3,838 ads from 733 pages, a handful of ads per advertiser on average. No page owns the category, and a small store competes with its offer, not its budget.

The perfume ads that have run for weeks in Saudi Arabia

The number of ads tells you who is testing; running time tells you who is selling. As you browse the ads that lasted, note three things for each: what is sold (a bottle, a set, oud oil, incense), the offer (a discount, a gift, a second piece), and who is in the video (a hand and a spray, or a person trying it and talking). After twenty ads your category's pattern is clear. Open the store page behind each ad to see the real price and payment method. How to read running time.
Practical steps and copy templates for a perfume store
- Open the GccFY library with "عطر" or "دهن عود" and the Saudi filter, sorted by longest running, then add the Salla platform filter to see your direct competitors.
- Price your hero product as a set inside the band where the market piles up, not as a single bottle.
- Put the gift in the first line (wrapping, a gift card, a free sample): it is what sets Saudi perfume apart from other categories.
- Plan the seasons: White Friday on 27 November 2026 (start mid-November), Founding Day on 22 February, Ramadan around 8 February 2027. The full calendar is in Gulf ad seasons.
