The Shopify pixel in Kuwait: how to install it, which pixels Shopify stores carry, and what Kuwaiti stores advertise

Kuwait is the Gulf's first Shopify market relative to its size: 15% of its Arabic ads lead to Shopify stores. And a Kuwaiti Shopify store that starts advertising before installing the pixel pays blind. This guide brings three things together: the documented way to install the Meta, TikTok and Snapchat pixels in Shopify, the pixels Shopify stores really carry in our second study, and what Shopify stores in Kuwait advertise across 4,188 recent ads from 614 advertiser pages (between 2026-10-25 and 2026-11-06).

Key takeaways

  • In Shopify the Meta pixel is connected through the Facebook & Instagram sales channel (the Meta app), or through "Customer events" for a custom pixel; TikTok and Snapchat each have a Shopify app.
  • Shopify stores in our study carry the Meta pixel at 92%, TikTok at 53% and Snapchat at 49%: far less than Salla stores (82% for Snapchat).
  • Kuwaiti Shopify stores sell health, skincare and perfumes (12%, 12% and 12%), at a median price of KWD 20, with almost no cash on delivery (3%).
  • The pixel filter in GccFY shows the ads of Kuwaiti Shopify stores carrying a given pixel, and the store page window shows each store's pixels.

Why the pixel comes before the first ad

A pixel is a small piece of an ad platform's code on your store pages that sends it events: a product view, an add to cart, a checkout started, a purchase. With these events Meta learns who buys and shows your ad to similar people, retargets those who added to cart and did not finish, and tells you what an order cost. Without a pixel you pay for ads that teach the platform nothing.

In Kuwait specifically this deserves care: Shopify is the leading store platform there, behind only selling over WhatsApp without a store (24% of the ads), and Kuwait carries 27% of all Shopify store ads in the Gulf. Your Shopify competitors are many, and most of them have the pixel installed. The general guide to Salla, Zid and Shopify pixels is in Salla, Zid and Shopify pixels.

How to install the Meta, TikTok and Snapchat pixels in Shopify

The documented path for each platform, in general words; the exact steps change with updates, so follow Shopify's current help centre:

  1. The Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram): in the Shopify admin, the Facebook & Instagram sales channel (the Meta app) connects your store to your ad account and links the pixel and dataset, so the store's events are sent automatically. This is the first path for most stores.
  2. A custom pixel: if you need your own code, Shopify offers Customer events for adding a custom pixel instead of pasting code into the theme.
  3. The TikTok pixel: TikTok has a Shopify app that installs its pixel and sends the events.
  4. The Snapchat pixel: Snapchat also has a Shopify app that installs its pixel.
  5. Verify: open the platform's events manager, visit your store, add a product to cart, and make sure the event reached the right account. The Meta Pixel Helper, TikTok Pixel Helper and Snap Pixel Helper extensions in Chrome help too.
  6. Do not install a pixel twice: the channel or app plus manual code for the same pixel doubles the purchase count and spoils the campaign's decisions.

And the pixel of a platform you do not advertise on is weight without benefit: every pixel slows the page a little. Install what you actually use.

Which pixels Shopify stores really carry

In our second study (October 2026) we checked the latest snapshot of 30,000 store pages that Gulf ads lead to, and counted the pixels on each platform's store pages (the numbers below are for Shopify stores across the whole Gulf, not Kuwait alone):

PixelShopify storesSalla stores (for comparison)
Meta (Facebook and Instagram)92%93%
TikTok53%85%
Snapchat49%82%
Google Ads47%56%
Google Analytics62%92%

The reading: the Meta pixel is almost universal, while TikTok and Snapchat are on only about half of Shopify stores, against the vast majority of Saudi Salla stores. So a Kuwaiti Shopify store starts with Meta, then decides on Snapchat and TikTok by its own audience and by what its Kuwaiti competitors do, not by what the Saudi market does. What Shopify stores in Kuwait advertise

Across 4,188 ads of Shopify stores shown in Kuwait: health and supplements (12%), skincare (12%) and perfumes (12%) share the top, then food (6%), electronics and fashion (5% and 5%). A Kuwaiti Shopify store is a beauty and health store first.

The median advertised price is KWD 20, with the middle half between KWD 10 and 26. Cash on delivery is almost absent (3% against 14% of all Kuwait ads): the store relies on online payment, which is exactly what makes the pixel's purchase event valuable. A discount or an offer in 30%, and catalogue (dynamic) ads in 21%, which do not work at all without a pixel and a catalogue connected to Meta. The button is "Shop now" on 53% and "Order now" on 37%. The GccFY pixel filter: who advertises where in Kuwait

  1. In the library: pick Kuwait and the "Shopify" store type, then the pixel filter, and sort by longest running. What appears is the ads of Kuwaiti stores carrying the pixel you chose, the oldest running first.
  2. On the Domains screen: set the platform to Shopify and the pixel to Snapchat or TikTok: you get the stores set up for that platform's ads, with their ads per country.
  3. Open the store page behind any ad: the store page window shows the page snapshot and the tracking tools we found on it.

That answers the practical question: does my Kuwaiti Shopify competitor advertise on Snapchat or TikTok too? If their store carries those pixels, the answer is most likely yes, so follow their ads there and not only on Meta. The information is public and legitimate: the pixel is in the page code that reaches any visitor, and you never try to access anyone's accounts.

Common Shopify pixel mistakes

  • Launching before connecting: days of ads without purchase events are days lost for the platform's learning.
  • The pixel twice: the channel or app plus manual code for the same pixel.
  • Forgetting the purchase event: a pixel that counts only views does not teach the platform who buys; verify the purchase, not just the page view.
  • The wrong account: after connecting, confirm in the events manager that events reach the right dataset.
  • Copying the Saudi market: Snapchat and TikTok on every Salla store does not mean your Kuwaiti store needs them; look at your competitors in Kuwait.
