Key takeaways
- Oman National Day is on 18 November, the holiday on 20 and 21 November, and the ads start in mid-November: that is now.
- Oman is the Gulf market with the most offers: a discount or an offer in 46% of its ads, cash on delivery in 27%, a gift in 14%; the occasion offer has to beat that.
- Hair care is the biggest niche (16%), then watches, health and electronics; the median advertised price is OMR 20.
- 28% of Oman's ads lead to WhatsApp without a store, and the "WhatsApp message" button is on 26%: give the offer a version that ends in a chat.
The date, the holiday, and when the ads start
Oman National Day falls on 18 November, and the official holiday is on 20 and 21 November. The rule in the Gulf national days guide: Oman's ads start in mid-November, so if you are reading this at the start of the month the timing is right, and if you are in the middle of it, launch today.
A week after the holiday comes White Friday (27 November 2026). Do not stretch the national day offer into it: end it with the holiday, then launch the White Friday offer with its own copy. A practical schedule:
| Stage | What to do |
|---|---|
| Now | Search Oman ads sorted by longest running, and prepare packaging, stock and delivery inside the Sultanate. |
| Mid-November | Launch the occasion ads in several versions on a small budget, for Oman alone. |
| 18 November | The day itself: the greeting first, the offer after it. |
| 20 and 21 November | The holiday: the peak of buying and gatherings; scale the strongest version. |
| 22 November | End the offer and prepare White Friday. |

What Oman ads offer today
Oman is the Gulf market with the most offers on ordinary days: a discount or an offer in 46% of the ads, "limited time" in 24%, a gift in 14%, free delivery in 18%, and cash on delivery in 27%, more than the UAE and Qatar. Instalments are almost absent (1%).
So a plain discount will go unnoticed in Oman; the market sees discounts every day. What sets a national day offer apart is the occasion itself: the greeting, the packaging, the gift, and delivery inside the Sultanate on the holiday days. Video is 77% of the ads and the median copy is 80 words: an Omani ad explains at length. The whole Omani market: Advertising in Oman.

Oman's niches: hair first, gifts after it
Oman is the only Gulf country where hair care leads (16% of the ads), followed by watches (14%), health (14%), electronics (14%) and fashion (13%). The Sultanate's biggest niche in detail, with prices in rials, is in Oman hair care ads.
For the national occasion, the closest niches:
- Perfumes and incense (9%, median price OMR 15): the occasion's gift, and a gift already appears in 22% of their ads.
- Heritage fashion and kids: pieces in the national colours for the day out; a gift appears in 32% of Oman's fashion ads and 34% of its kids' ads.
- Watches and accessories (median OMR 20): the heavy-offer niche, with cash on delivery in 52% and free delivery in 49% of its ads; an occasion edition sets you apart.
- Home and hosting (median OMR 42): hosting sets and decor for the gathering, and 36% of its ads lead to WhatsApp.
- Hair and personal care: not a gift niche, but the biggest one; a "holiday offer" bundle with fast delivery inside the Sultanate works there.

WhatsApp is part of the offer in Oman
28% of Oman's ads lead to a WhatsApp chat without a store, and the "WhatsApp message" button is on 26% of the ads, against "Shop now" on 45%. On holiday days many people buy from the phone with a quick question: will it arrive before the holiday, does it come gift-wrapped?
- A version of the ad that ends in WhatsApp next to the store version, with the same offer.
- Ready replies for the recurring questions: arrival time to Muscat, Salalah and the other governorates, packaging, cash on delivery.
- Mention the occasion in the first message the buyer receives, not only in the ad.

Offer ideas and copy templates (our wording)
- Occasion packaging: the same product in a box or with a card in the occasion's colours, ending with the holiday.
- A gift with the order instead of another discount in a market that sees discounts every day.
- Delivery inside the Sultanate before the holiday with a clear date; free delivery is a familiar promise there (18% of the ads).
- Cash on delivery for the new buyer: it is mentioned in 27% of Oman's ads, and its absence is noticed.
- A holiday bundle: a family set or three pieces for one price.

National symbols, and what the market remembers
- Colours and phrases are always a safe choice; for the flag and the official emblem in a commercial ad, check the country's rules first.
- No national symbols on things thrown away or stepped on, no images of leaders and no official logos without explicit permission.
- Do not mix countries: Oman's offer in Oman's colours alone, and for Oman alone in the campaign settings.
- Pride, not jokes, and end the offer with the holiday, before White Friday.
