Perfume stores in the UAE: how they advertise, what they charge, and where their ads lead

The UAE perfume market is close to Saudi Arabia's in size and different in style. We found 3,480 recent Arabic perfume and incense ads targeting the UAE from 614 advertiser pages (between 2026-10-24 and 2026-11-03), against 3,838 in Saudi Arabia. The difference is not the count: a Dubai perfume ad is longer, more often a video, and leads to Shopify rather than Salla.

Key takeaways

  • 80% of perfume ads in the UAE are video, against 68% in Saudi Arabia.
  • A gift appears in 17% of the ads (Saudi Arabia 18%), a discount or an offer in 47%.
  • Shopify is the first platform (18% of the ads) and Salla only 6%, while Salla has 35% in Saudi Arabia.
  • The median price is AED 190; half of the priced ads sit between AED 111 and 300.

What sets a UAE perfume ad apart

Perfumes take 8% of all the Arabic ads that targeted the UAE in these days, a larger share than in Saudi Arabia (7%). Three differences show at once when you put the two countries' ads side by side:

  • Longer copy: the median ad has 93 words in the UAE against 48 in Saudi Arabia. The Emirati advertiser explains the notes, the size and the offer; the Saudi one writes two lines and a button.
  • More video: 80% video against 68% in Saudi Arabia and 75% across the Gulf. Dynamic catalogue ads are rarer in the UAE (7%) than in Saudi Arabia (13%).
  • Emojis almost everywhere: 83% of the ads, more than Saudi Arabia (70%).

And the ad is usually aimed at the UAE alone: each other Gulf country receives about a tenth of these ads at most (Qatar 7%, Saudi Arabia 7%, Kuwait 7%). For the Gulf-wide picture read the perfume ads guide.

The offers: a gift, a discount, a deadline

A discount or an offer in 47% of UAE perfume ads, "limited time" or "hurry" in 29%. The striking difference is the gift: 17% of the ads promise one (a sample, a body mist, gift wrapping), more than Saudi Arabia (18%). In the UAE perfume is bought as a present as much as for oneself, and the ads know it.

Cash on delivery in only 15%, free delivery in 11%, instalments in 4%. These are secondary promises in a market used to paying by card; the first promise is the price and the gift. For what each signal means and how to read it in a competitor's ad, see Ad offers in numbers.

Where the ads lead: Shopify first

This is the biggest difference with Saudi Arabia. In the UAE 18% of perfume ads lead to a Shopify store and 15% to a WhatsApp chat with no store, while Salla has 6% and WooCommerce 3%. Saudi Arabia is the reverse: Salla 35%, Shopify 8%. The rest lead to own sites or platforms we did not identify.

The buttons: "Shop now" on 55%, "Order now" on 16%, "WhatsApp message" on 14% (Saudi Arabia 8%). If you sell from Salla and want to enter Dubai, that is fine, but your competitor there has a Shopify store with a detailed product page.

Prices in dirhams: the same median, a higher ceiling

Of 518 ads that stated a price in dirhams: the lower quartile up to AED 111, the median 190, the upper quartile from AED 300. In Saudi Arabia, in riyals: 113, 199 and 249. The dirham and the riyal are close in value, so the median is about the same, but the UAE's upper quartile reaches further: there is room for oud, luxury oils and sets at a higher price in a direct ad.

The working rule: a perfume under AED 111 needs a quantity offer (two for one) to cover delivery; above AED 300 it needs a clear gift or instalments in the first line.

The perfume ads that lasted in the UAE

Active perfume ads in the UAE for the word «عطر» (perfume), sorted by longest running in GccFY.

The market is spread out: 614 pages for 3,480 ads, a handful of ads per page on average. No advertiser owns the category, and a new store can find its place if it knows what lasts. What usually lasts in this category: "inspired by" versions of global perfumes at a lower price, gift sets, oud and incense in luxury packaging, and "buy two" offers.

Open the same sort and change the word ("عود" oud, "بخور" incense, "دهن" oil) to see each branch, then open the store page behind an ad to see the real price and offer as the buyer saw them. To compare with Kuwait read Kuwait perfume stores; for every category in the UAE, Trending in the UAE.

Practical steps and copy templates for Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah

  1. Start with video: the bottle in a hand, then the spray, with the notes written on screen.
  2. Write full copy, not two lines: notes, size, longevity, the offer and the gift.
  3. Make the gift part of the offer, not an add-on, and put the wrapping in the picture.
  4. Price in dirhams inside the market range, and state delivery inside the emirate clearly.
