Toy and kids stores in Saudi Arabia: how they advertise, at what price, and where the Gulf market is

A kids ad talks to the mother and father, not the child: a toy that keeps them off the phone, a school bag, an Eid gift. We read 2,591 recent Arabic ads for kids' toys, clothes and supplies targeting Saudi Arabia, from 747 advertiser pages, between 2026-10-24 and 2026-11-03. And this category holds a surprise: Saudi Arabia is not its biggest Gulf market.

Key takeaways

  • The Gulf kids market is not led by Saudi Arabia: the UAE has 2,455 ads against 2,591 for Saudi Arabia, the only one of the six categories in this series where the UAE comes first.
  • A gift in 19% of Saudi kids ads, against 8% in Saudi Arabia overall, and "limited time" in 18%.
  • The median advertised price is SAR 99, below the median of Saudi ads (SAR 199): today's toy is priced within reach.
  • Still images matter more: 21% of the ads are images, and video only 63%, against 74% for kids ads across the Gulf.

The Gulf toys market: the UAE first

In every one of the six categories we study in this series, Saudi Arabia leads the Gulf by number of ads, except kids: 2,455 ads targeted the UAE and 2,591 Saudi Arabia, then Kuwait (1,894) and Oman (1,729). Within Saudi Arabia, kids is one of the smaller categories: 2,591 ads against 5,926 for fashion.

In practice, for a Saudi toy store: competition for ad space in your category is lighter than in fashion and electronics, and the market is not saturated. And if you ship across the Gulf, the UAE and Kuwait are big markets for the category. For the full Gulf picture of kids ads, read Kids and toys ads.

How kids products sell: the gift and urgency

  • A gift in 19%: the highest gift share of the six categories in this series. "A free toy with every order", "gift wrapping", or the toy itself sold as an Eid or graduation present.
  • Urgency in 18%, against 16% in Saudi Arabia overall: limited stock before school or Eid.
  • A discount in 37%, close to the Saudi average (34%).
  • Cash on delivery in 15%, slightly above average, while free delivery (10%) and instalments (3%) are below it: the price is small.

Video is in 63% of the ads, the lowest share of all the study's categories in Saudi Arabia, and images in 21%. That is an opening: a toy that moves or gets built in front of the camera says more than a photo. What each signal means: Ad offers in numbers.

Where the ads lead: WhatsApp, Salla and WooCommerce

WhatsApp without a store first (21%), then Salla (13%), Shopify (5%) and WooCommerce (4%, above its share of Saudi ads overall: 1%). A mother asks about the right age, safety and size before buying, so the chat is present. When to choose WhatsApp and when the store: WhatsApp ads.

The buttons: "Shop now" on 39%, "WhatsApp message" on 20%, "Order now" on 16%. Note "Apply now" on 3%: a registration button, not a buying one, meaning the kids category in Saudi Arabia includes nurseries, courses and activities alongside toys. Keep that in mind when reading its numbers.

Prices, and who advertises

Of 238 Saudi kids ads that stated a price in riyals: the lower quartile up to SAR 50, the median 99, the upper quartile from SAR 299. At the bottom, small and educational toys bought on impulse; at the top, bikes, electric ride-on cars and kids' room furniture.

2,591 ads from 747 pages: a handful of ads per advertiser, so the category is spread across many small stores. A toy store does not need a big budget to show up here.

The kids ads that have run for weeks

Active ads in Saudi Arabia with the word "أطفال" (kids), sorted by longest running in GccFY.
Active ads in Saudi Arabia with the word "أطفال" (kids), sorted by longest running in GccFY.

The word "أطفال" is broad: you will find toys, clothes, supplies and nurseries. Narrow the search with your product word (لعبة, مكعبات, دراجة, حقيبة مدرسية), sort by longest running, and open the store page behind each ad: the stated age, the price, and the gift that comes with it. How to read running time.

Practical steps and copy templates for a toy store

  1. Search your product word with the Saudi filter, sorted by longest running, then repeat with the UAE and Kuwait filters to see if they are a market for you.
  2. Put the right age and safety (safe material, no small parts) in the first line: it is the mother's first question.
  3. Film the toy in use; video is rarer in this category than it should be.
  4. Add a small gift instead of a big discount.
  5. Plan the seasons: back to school in late August (start early August), summer from June to August, Eid al-Fitr on 9 or 10 March 2027, and White Friday on 27 November 2026. The calendar is in Gulf ad seasons.
